Tytus had been staring at a page on his web browser for the past ten minutes. He had been placed on unpaid leave from his work at the convenience store and he needed to find a new way to make money. He had browsed help wanted ads and found nothing appealing, so he decided to switch tactics. The young man began to browse superhuman wanted advertisements and he eventually came to this page.
Ty was seated under the false tree in his apartment, where Prince had been sleeping all day. He eventually brought himself to click the button labeled ‘Register Now’. He promptly began filling in the empty fields. Alias: Sleepster. Age: 22. Affiliation: None. Abilities: I can put people to sleep but I usually fall asleep too. Ty laughed at himself. “I need to find a better way to say that. A way that doesn’t make me seem so… ineffective.” The young man placed his laptop to the side and slumped further underneath the false tree. He gazed at the sleeping sloth above him.
“Why don’t you get a job?” Ty asked facetiously. Prince almost knowingly opened one eye, then closed it again before returning to sleep. Ty changed his focus from the sloth to the ceiling above. He was still hesitant to fully register to this website. U.S.H.E.R. Unaffiliated Super Human Employment Resource. It is exactly what I need right now. The only thing giving him pause was the emphasis on unaffiliated. Ty was hoping no one contacted him with expectations of any heinous crimes. He came to the conclusion that he could always deny such requests.
Ty grabbed his laptop and finished registering. “Now we wait to be conta-” He was interrupted by the buzzing of an incoming text message. He retrieved his phone and read the message out loud. “ ‘Incoming request: Skilled babysitter needed for tonight 5:00 – 11:00. Reply within twenty minutes to accept request.’ A babysitter?” It certainly wasn’t what Ty was expecting, but with his specific skill set it was perfect.
Ty clenched his fist in success and replied to the text. He opened the U.S.H.E.R. app on his phone and changed his status to ‘Occupied’. The Sleepster checked the time and saw that the job was to start in half an hour. “Guess it’s time to work. See ya later bud.” Ty gave the sloth a pat and exited his apartment.
In time he reached his destination. The house was situated in a rather upscale part of town. Ty yawned at the sight and spoke through the yawn. “Swaaanky.” He mumbled before knocking on the door. The door was answered by a couple dressed in fancy attire. “Hey, I’m here to ans-” The man interrupted Ty and began speaking. “Ah The um… Sleepster correct? ” The man said with a chuckle. The women gave a light laugh as well. Are they mocking my alias?
“Anywho~, Welcome there is money for pizza on the counter. Bo is to be asleep by nine o’clock. Good-bye.” With that the couple left, as if they couldn’t get out of the house faster. Whatever, I get pizza and I get paid after. This’ll be a breeze. Just as the thought crossed Ty’s mind a gust of wind blew up into his face. A young boy, materialized in front of Tytus, as if out of nowhere.

Ty knelt down. “Hey there buddy. You must be Bo.” All of the sudden the young boy was gone. Ty blinked twice, dumbfounded. “Huh? Wasn’t he just…” Another gust of wind blew Ty’s hair back and again the boy stood before him. Uh-oh. This time the boy was holding a toy. He set the toy down at Ty’s feet. Then the boy was gone, then back with another toy. Gone, back, gone, back, gone… Before Ty could truly comprehend what was happening, his legs were buried in the boy’s toys. Ty attempted to extract himself from the pile, but tripped and fell in the process. This was much to the young boy’s pleasure as he let out a giggle at the sight. Ty yawned as he laid in the pile of toys. He had his work cut out for him this time.
“So you’re a little speedster huh? Well I think we should just chill out for a little how does that sound?” Ty raised a hand and sent some sleep waves in the boy’s direction. Unfortunately the boy bolted away before the waves could reach him. This left a drowsy Ty with the rambunctious child, an unfortunate circumstance. The boy took to bolting around the living room. Ty closed his eyes and rubbed his eyelids while he thought. Maybe he will tire himself out. The circles that the boy ran around Ty, were an indication that Bo would not tire anytime soon.
Ty rose from the pile of toys and gathered his already depleted strength. Alright kiddo. No more Mr. nice guy. Ty tracked the speedy child and dove to grab the boy. The boy easily evaded Ty’s uncharacteristically laborious attempt at capturing him. Ty rose again, now even more tired. He sighed, realizing he may not be up to the task of caring for the young speedster. Maybe the parents haven’t gotten too far.
Ty had decided he simply wasn’t going to be able to reign in the lively child. He turned and gripped the door handle. As soon as he pulled to open the door, he felt a breeze blow past him. Ty’s eyes tracked a small blur speeding down the street. The kid that Ty was responsible for had escaped. The Sleepster rubbed his eyes again. “This kid must be my worst enemy.” Ty exited the house and strolled down the street in the direction of the small blur.
Ty paused his movement and yawned. “I can’t handle this alone.” He pulled out his phone and opened his Usher app. His thumb navigated to the ‘Request Backup’ button and depressed upon it. This probably isn’t what super humans expect to be dealing with. Oh well, for now I have to assume I’m on my own. Ty gathered his effort and continued down the street in slow pursuit of Bo.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city
Ashling had just finished up checking out the university's campus, and finished hearing about all the benefits of running out here, on the west coast. Some of it sounded like window dressings to get their school more business. Moreover, she was happy about staying close to family at Jewel Junction's program. It was nice to get out and see the city though. She was done for the evening, and the others that had come out from Jewel Junction were going out for a night on the town, when her phone buzzed a notification.
Incoming request: Skilled babysitter needed for tonight 5:00 – 11:00. Reply within twenty minutes to accept request. >>> Backup Requested
"...Uh oh...." She clicked on details, and saw "The Sleepster" had taken the job and requested backup within about twenty minutes of starting the job. She was a little skeptical of this one, but she enjoyed working with kids. After all, how bad could it really be? She signed on as backup, and flicked her settings to occupied. She probably wouldn't need to play dressup tonight. Could Shine go out as a normal person tonight? Maybe. She glanced at her mirror before tucking it away in a pocket. She'd have her things, if she needed them. She grabbed up the rest of her things, before heading out onto the street, and heading towards the place where the job was supposed to be.
She knocked when she got there, but didn't get an answer.... Eventally she thought to look back in the app, and saw a button to send message out to the Sleepster. She tapped away at her phone before hitting the send button, hoping this wasn't a waste of her time.
>"Hey, it's Shine. Whr r u?"

Ty was still in pursuit of the young speedster by the name of Bo. He had lost track of the boy minutes ago and he found himself at a loss for where the child would be. Ty sat down on a bench while he tried to think of a plan of action. If I were a child with super speed and near limitless energy where would I go? Maybe a candy store? When I was his age all I wanted to do was relax, babysitters loved me.
As Tytus racked his brain his phone vibrated in his pocket. He retrieved it and opened the message. Ty's eyes glanced over the words as he read the message. >"Hey, it's Shine. Whr r u?"
Ty let out a sigh of relief."Oh thank heavens." Tytus was incredibly grateful that he wasn't going to be alone on this mission. He turned his head to read a nearby street sign. Using his thumb to text, he replied to Shine's question.
>Corner of Apple Ave and Fourth. On a bench. Also, keep your eyes peeled for a super fast young boy.
Now all he had to do was wait for help to arrive. Ty figured he wouldn't be able to get much done on his own so he rested his head on a hand and shut his eyes. I'm still pretty drowsy from using my sleep waves earlier. Maybe I can get in a quick nap before this Shine person gets here. Ty yawned and within moments he was asleep on the bench.

Ashling stood on the porch of the place, awkwardly waiting for an answer from Sleepster. When the message came, it brought a measure of relief with it, though the answer itself wasn't particularly comforting in what it implied. She opened up her phone, and read the response to herself outloud.
"Corner of Apple Ave and Fourth. On a bench. Also, keep your eyes peeled for a.... Oh, for crying out loud." A super speed child? Just what were they dealing with here? No matter. She flipped over to a navigation app on her phone, and brought up the intersection of Apple and Fourth. It wasn't far, so that was good at least. Tracking the kid though.... Just how fast? She'd have to figure that out when she caught up to this other Super. She tapped a few letters back into a message, and sent it on its way.
>OMW.
She was still pretty new to this whole superheroine gig, and she found herself easily excited and glad about the sort of differences that she could make, but it was this sort of thing that conspired to defeat her. She didn't even know what they were looking for. Just some fast kid. Other than that, it seemed just like a normal job.... It'd be really disheartening if she was "beaten" here.
"Not gonna let that happen!" She said, backing down a few steps, and then turning to set a ground eating pace up the road in the direction that she needed to go. It wasn't long by her accounting of time, before she found herself at the crossing of the streets. No sign of her rendezvous though. She checked her phone once more, and saw the message said that he'd be on one of the benches. Her eyes fell on a bench at the side of the street.Nobody was sitting in it.... She stepped towards it until she could see over the back until she could see a slouched form laying on the bench.
Could that be... Is that.... No.... it couldn't be who she was meeting, could it? Who she was meeting with was someone who'd just called in backup for a babysitting mission. Apparently because his charge had gotten away. Actually, on second thought, this very well might be him.
She looked once more at the calm, almost peaceful expression on his face. Then a bit of catlike mischief started twinkling in her eyes, as she started shaking him awake by his hood. "Hey! Sleepster!"
Oh gods. I hope this is the right person.

Ty was being shaken by his hood. The collar of his hoodie tightened around his neck forcing him to cough as he woke up. The person who was attacking him knew his alias. “Hey! Sleepster!” Panic washed over Ty. Ah I’m under attack. I gotta stop this. He sat up, pulling himself away from his assailant. Sleepster raised a hand and almost sent out sleep waves toward the young woman who had led to his awakening. As the fog from sleep cleared itself from Ty’s mind, he began to remember what he was doing. Ty lowered his hand and stood up, yawning and stretching.
“Oh you’re Shine? I’m Sleepster, but I guess you already knew that.” The Sleepster looked over the redhead who had recently assaulted his sleeping form. Usually Ty would’ve been crankier that his sleep was interrupted, but for some reason that wasn’t the case here. Ty smirked lightly at how he must’ve appeared to his new Super acquaintance. A guy asleep on a bench while he was supposed to be caring for a young boy, it wasn’t a good look, but Ty didn’t feel like explaining his excuse at the current moment. Instead he decided to inform his comrade of the situation they were in. Ty took a deep breath to prepare himself for the talking he had to do.
“So here’s the mess I’ve gotten myself into. Thanks for the help by the way. There is a young boy who goes by the name of Bo. This boy managed to escape my watchful eye and is now somewhere in this city. He is a young Super with super speed, naturally this makes things difficult on me. Also his parents return home at 11:00. We should probably get him home before that, if we don’t want to get removed from USHER that is.” Ty took a pause to see if there were any questions. He rubbed his eyelids in the meantime, just thinking of pursuing the child was draining his energy again. Ty shook his head and resolved to find the boy, lest he risk getting fired from USHER. It would sure be embarrassing if I got fired after my first request.
Ty turned and began to stroll leisurely along Apple Ave. He pulled up his phone and checked its map function. “I’m going to keep an eye out for candy stores. I can’t really think of anywhere else he would be.”

Maybe this is a really bad idea. She was just thinking to herself as she shook him awake. Shaking a super awake... yeah. Not on your list of brightest ideas, Ashling. Still, with a name like Sleepster.... Well, it didn't exactly inspire confidence or awe. Even when he woke, his movements seemed a little more mild than she would have thought. She braced herself for something unexpected, but didn't feel anything unusual.... Had he just been trying to push her attempts at rousing him away?
"Yep. I'm Shine. And I'd hoped you were Sleepster. It would have been awkward explaining myself to someone else. Heheh...." It was a little awkward anyways. C'mon. Sleeping on the job?
The tale he told didn't do much to raise the bar of confidence in her mind. The kid had run off, and Sleepster was guessing that he might be at a candy store. Afterall! Where else would he go.... Oh. This could turn into a mess.
"I'd be more concerned with what the parents might do with us.... You look like you need a good night's rest, Man." He really did seem to be struggling to stay awake.
She thought about the problem. This kid was fast. She could run well, but if she didn't like her odds of trying to keep up with the turbo powered tyke. They didn't even know where he was. That would be the first thing to figure out. Sleepster was guessing a candy shop, but... she might be able to do more than guess.
"Um... Hey! I can probably help find him quicker than that. You can keep going that way, or you can come with me, but I've got eyes in this city!" She was vague in how she worded it. She wasn't sure how she felt about giving away what she could do now. It was Shine's secret, after all. She wasn't about to turn down someone in need though, be they man or child. Or superman or superchild.
She backed away from the road, and searched for a spot nearby that was out of the main line of sight and near what she needed. A reflection. It didn't have to be the clearest or most neat reflection, but it would have to be about as big as she was. She normally could find what she needed in a car lot, or near some of the brighter and shinier parts of town, such as polished granite or marble pillars on the giant city buildings. In this case, it was a parked car nearby. She sidled around next to it, and just reached out a hand to lightly touch the shine on its surface. At the touch, a world of images came to life in her mind. Sunlight. Cars blazing past, following, or leading each other. Windows to look out. People staring out windows. Pools of water under the streets.... So many pictures from so many angles. Her brain tried to rebel at the sights almost immediately. She just closed her eyes as she flinched under the sensory assault. That seemed to help her focus on what she needed. She needed control, because as long as she was there, she was the one that tied all of those reflections from all those places together.
She kept her ears tuned for Sleepster or someone else who might follow her, and focused her "sight" downwards, towards the street level from about the second floor. She started a wide sweep of the area, searching for a small blur or the chaos that he might cause. Her vision wouldn't reach forever, but it should reach a few blocks distant.

Shine claimed that she would be more concerned with the parent’s reaction to their lost child. Ty hadn’t even thought about the repercussions that came from the parents. Oh man, what if they have powers too? We better find that kid. Ty had decided he would redouble his effort to find the missing Bo. To be fair even when his effort was doubled, it still wasn’t very noticeable. Shine pointed out that she had an idea to help the search. She said Ty was free to search on his own, or he could go with her. Ty smiled lightly and placed his phone back in his pocket. When his options were to stroll around a city looking for a rambunctious child or just tag along while someone else did most of the work, well he would pick the one that didn’t require work.
“Eyes in the city? What does that mean?” Ty was somewhat cautious due to the ominous phrasing. He remained a few steps behind Shine to make sure nothing strange was going to happen. Ty’s caution seemed to be well founded as he watched Shine begin to wander around the street. Ty tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. She was clearly looking for something. The unknowing Tytus assumed she was just searching the immediate area for the lost child. “It doesn’t seem like your way is any faster than mine. I doubt Bo is around here. Uhhh are you okay?” Shine had placed her hand against a car and appeared to be in some type of struggle with it. She closed her eyes and focused. Ty simply watched with sleepy eyes.
If Shine could truly see through the reflections in a few blocks radius, she would come across many children. Most were with their parents but a few were not. Two girls were together, walking a young puppy. One boy was on his own, wearing a red shirt and black shorts. He was jumping at a tree branch, it was a curious sight but not Bo. Finally, another young boy could be seen exiting a candy store at high speeds. The sign on the store read Dandy Candy.
Ty couldn’t see any of this. All he saw was a woman locked in an unyielding struggle with a parked car. The moments felt longer than they were. Ty pulled out his phone to check the time. The duo still had plenty of time to track down the child. Ty walked over to the side of a building as he waited for Shine to finish her sweep of the city. He slumped his body against the building as he tried to discern how close to finished Shine was.

She took note of the fact that he'd followed her, but didn't take the time to answer once she started focusing. She could see too much. She needed to learn to narrow where she "looked". That's what her instructor said, at least. So far, she'd not mastered that trick yet. It was still difficult.
She looked through the streets, scanning wildly. Jumping kid trying to get to a tree branch, someone hawking hotdogs from a cart in a plaza. She saw herself and Sleepster where they stood or leaned at the car lot. That wasn't where she needed to see. She quickly spun the vision away from them. Cars, a bus. A view of mountains in the distance. She tuned it back to ground level again, forcing it down to where she needed to see. A Bus stop. A playground in a park. A candy store....-Wait!
"Dandy Candy!"
"Got you now, Bo!" She yelled, She pumped a fist in the air in triumph, eyes opened now but still defocused. Without turning her head she waved wildly in the general direction of where she'd seen Sleepster go, and then yelled for him again, clearly excited. She was following his progress through the crowded streets from overhead now, and didn't want to lose him. "Sleep! Come on! I need you over here. Take my hand!"
She was still looking somewhere beyond normal sight, but reached out a hand towards him anyway, opening and closing her hand rapidly in the hopes that he'd grab hold. Once she felt something that felt like a person, she pulled and spoke up. "Ok. This is going to feel weird. Hang on and step forward!" Suddenly there was a chilling sensation across her skin, and she felt as though she were being pulled forward towards the car. She took a step in, so she wouldn't land on her face They stepped into the side of the car, slowed a little in the unclear reflection, and then were pulled the rest of the way through. One step deposited them through the side of the car and then out the front of a vending machine she'd found near where the child was, but around a corner from the worst of he crowds. It was a little bit of a tight squeeze for two, but she wrapped her arm around his shoulders and hunched him down on the way out as they landed. The step out was a little unsteady, but nothing she hadn't handled before. Her vision returned, and was a little blurry, but it would fix itself within a few minutes.
"I saw him not far from here, heading up the road towards that intersection." She said, pointing out towards the place where their current location dumped out into. She waited for Sleepster's reaction before she would head out.

Ty heard Shine scream ‘Dandy Candy’ followed by ‘Got you now Bo!’ I knew it. He was at a candy store. Ty aimed a smug expression at Shine but she was preoccupied. Either way, Ty strolled over to the car alongside Shine who had been shouting for him. The Sleepster was hesitant to follow the woman’s directions but eventually agreed by reluctantly placing his hand in hers. She pulled him with a brief warning of feeling a strange sensation. Ty followed Shine into the car.
Weird didn’t quite prepare Sleepster for it well enough. Ty’s brain simply didn’t understand what was happening. All the rules of nature he had come to know as fact were broken. In an effort to prevent sensory overload, Ty’s vision faded and his hearing was dulled. At least until the duo had emerged on the other side. Ty was incredibly disoriented. For a couple moments he stumbled around and felt like he was going to puke. The Sleepster was doubled over in front of a nearby wall when he eventually shook off the nausea. He then was able to take Shine’s directions for Bo’s location.
Ty pursued the boy at a brisk walk. His version of a quick pace. Sleepster was impressed with his companions abilities. He fantasized about different ways he could avoid effort if he had the power. “That sure is some power, you could travel without having to walk ever again. It's like a dream come true.” Ty spoke to Shine as they approached a park. Ty squinted to see a boy in the distance sitting beneath a tree. The boy was indulging himself with all sorts of sweets. Lollipops, sugar bombs, sour gummies, it was Bo alright. Now that the two had their target in their sights, Ty came up with a plan of capture. He turned to Shine to explain what he had in mind.
“Alright, if you can circle around him and drive him in my direction, I can put him to sleep. Unfortunately, I’ll probably fall asleep as well so… Well we can cross that bridge when we come to it. Sound good?” It wasn’t an entirely foolproof plan, but it would work if luck was on their side.

"Ohh.... Emm.... Sorry. I guess it's worse than I remembered the first time." Sleepster looked pretty miserable, and fairly worn down by their little escapade out of the vending machine. Of course, he'd always looked a little tired since she'd first found him napping. "I didn't think of that. Are you going to be alright?"
She started off with him, part of her wanting to run ahead, but the rest of her knowing that it was best to stick together. She turned her head at the comment he made though, about being able to avoid walking?
"Why would I want to do that?" She excelled at running, and jogging, so of course she wouldn't understand. She stopped once Sleepster stopped and squinted ahead, pinching the bridge of her nose between tumb and forefinger as she rubbed her eyes. Her head still hurt and her vision was still fuzzy from looking at so much of the city. It was a talent that she could use, but was far from mastering. It was still a little beyond her. "That's him, huh...? Hey. Maybe he'll sugar crash." It was a hope, and shared cheerfully enough. Some intuition she had was telling her to be prepared for more shenanigans though.
Shine listened as he gave her the plan. Drive him towards Sleep, and Sleep would take him. There was just one problem, which she was quick enough to voice. "You'll fall asleep?!"
Her voice was almost accusatory, as if to carry the silent question "What am I supposed to do with you?"
"Ohhh... Alright. I hope you don't sleep supernaturally heavy though. Give me a minute to circle around, and scout the park out."
Waiting just long enough for a response from Sleepster, she slipped away. She turned from him and started up jogging, the one comfortable thing she'd been able to do in this city in the west. As she made a wide circle though, she kept an eye on Bo, as well on potential gateways that she could use for rapid transport. A Parking lot, a fun mirror on the playground... Ewww... She might lose her lunch if she went through that. Those were never gentle rides. Well now was the time to go for it. She looked across the way, and could almost make out Sleepster.... Maybe this wouldn't be so hard after all though. She turned towards the center, not slowing her pace, and came up closer to Bo. A little closer. A little closer. She was just a normal jogger. Don't notice.
"Hi, Bo. Are you ready to go home? You want to go home? Sleepster and I came to find you." She looked at the young boy, talking in a way only adults can to the younglings.

Shine questioned why she would want to use her power to travel throughout the city. Apparently the two were very different when it came to motivation or lack thereof. After they saw the child she suggested that the boy could possibly have a sugar crash. Wouldn’t that be nice. It was after this that Ty shared his plan. One particular aspect was met with derision.
"You'll fall asleep?!"
Ty was a little offended. He responded in defense of his ability. “Well yeah, all powers have drawbacks. Your little teleportation trick induced nausea.” Ty sighed, the team had bigger things to worry about. Shine took to the plan and moved out to enact it. The Sleepster tracked her as she moved close to the target. He couldn’t hear what was being said but Bo shot up as soon as Shine began to speak. The boy moved away from Shine, slowly at first while he was saying something. Once he finished talking he took off in Ty’s direction.
Alright here he comes, time to ….. shine. Ty reached out his arm and sent a pulse of sleep waves at the blur. Suddenly, Bo made a hard turn, forcing the Sleepster’s pulse to miss. Ty yawned widely and fell backward. He tilted his head to watch the boy climb onto a play structure. Ty’s head rolled back and he closed his eyes. He was able to resist the urge to fall asleep for now. I guess Bo wants to play now. Ty sat up and held himself up with his arms. He looked to Shine and shrugged lightly.
“You got any bright ideas?”

Shine sighed as she watched Bo take off again. Away from her, but thankfully, towards Sleepster. She watched as the mild mannered super she'd teamed up with stretched out a hand towards the zipping racing child. Then watched as the same zipping racing child spun away, and ran off to the play set not far away. She didn't bother chasing. She couldn't catch that. Instead she walked over to the drained Sleepster, and just stood next to where he'd sat himself down, crossed her arms across her chest, and shook her head towards their charge. At least he didn't go far....
Sleepster asked if she had any bright ideas, and she just stood there for awhile, thinking and watching. She could remember coming to parks when she was young. Much much younger than she was now. Her Mom had brought her and spent the hours watching her child. Just like Ashling was doing for Bo now. During that time, she'd always loved the merry-go-round. See-saws had been fun. Slides were like a mountain to climb before celebrating with the downward rush.... Her favorite had always been the swing set though.... Maybe... the swingset....
"Hmm.... I don't think he trusts me, Sleepster. Buuuuuut..., why don't you go and swing on the swingset for awhile, Sleep? Maybe that'll help." She shifted her weight onto a back foot as she reached up and held her chin with one hand, a little glimmer and hope in her eyes. She'd never been able to keep away from being swung on the swing set when she was little. The feeling of free movement, almost flight was too intoxicating for the young Ashling to resist.
"I'll just keep watch over here for awhile."

The plan had failed and Ty was barely able to keep his eyes open. Shine was speaking about Ty going for a swing for a little. Perhaps she wanted to lure the boy to the swing set with the implication of pushing him on the swing set. Ty wasn’t sure he could swing himself nor push the child on the swings. He was very tired. The sleepster could fall asleep any moment now and he needed to figure something out. Luckily, Ty came up with another plan. This one was more in depth than his last.
The sleepster spoke through a yawn. “Naw, I don’t think Ill make it all the way to that swingset all the way over there.” Ty’s head dipped for a moment but he caught it before he fully fell asleep. He lightly shook his head to keep himself awake. Ty’s eyes fell upon the play structure. There were plenty of reflections on the structure. Ty’s understanding of Shine’s powers led him to share his plan. “We can use our powers together though. If I can send my sleep signals through any shine on the playground. It could make a whole area of crossing sleep waves. No one could dodge that. Not even a…. speedy child.” Ty had his eyes half closed but still wore a smirk from his plan.
Now all he needed was to see if the plan worked with Shine’s powers. It was a combination move that could be specifically used to peacefully take care of a whole area of problems. Alone, supers are strong, but when they use their powers together, they are even stronger. Ty struggled to stand. He was slumped and slouching so much that he lost his balance a little. He fell slowly in Shine’s direction and placed his arm around her shoulders to brace himself. Hopefully she was able to catch and bear Ty’s sleepy weight without the two of them collapsing to the floor. This led to another aspect of his plan.
Ty spoke with his eyes closed. “You might need to help me make it to another car reflection though.”

The more she spoke and the more she listened to this Sleepster, the more apparent his weariness was becoming. He looked like he was about to topple over and take a nap right where he stood. So maybe her idea to let Sleepster lure the kid back to them with a natural action like playing on the swings wouldn't work so well. Ah well.... She grimaced. She would have felt alot less like a kidnapper if that'd worked. Even if they were in the right to try and get this kid back to his house. She still hadn't even seen the inside of the place yet....
She listened to his plan. Send his "sleep waves" through the reflections of the place. It could work, but there might be a complication. She frowned, a little discouraged at how much trouble they were having with this simple job. If the two of them couldn't even babysit this boy, how was she going to make it as a hero for the people? Or for her students? Oh, gods. If she couldn't even handle one... nope! That was it! She wasn't going to let one kid beat her now. However fast he was. She had her own kids and students to stand up for!
"Ok. That might work. I have to touch anything that I bring through though, so we're going to have to play peek-a-boo on the playset though." As he stepped towards her, Shine saw that he was falling more than walking, and steadied herself as he fell into her. He wasn't exactly light, but between all of her running and exercise, and his comparitively light frame it was simple enough to keep him upright. She grimaced a little as she wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and let him lean on her. It was a little unconventional, she thought. She'd carry him though if she had to.... She really hoped she didn't have to.
She thought about taking him into the mirrors. That would simplify things a little when it came to picking mirrors to look out of. It wouldn't supply anything that she couldn't do by herself though, and she... was reluctant to reveal the sanctuary in the mirror that she carried with her. Best to operate out of the regular reflections for now, and just expend the little extra effort that it would take to guide them by herself.
Half dragging, and half helping him, Ashling got them over to another reflection and reached out with a hand to touch it with her free hand. She concentrated a moment, finding the best reflections to use on the playset. They needed multiple angles, and multiple options. The larger and straighter the reflections were, the easier they would be to use.
"When I pull us back out, that means we're going to change mirrors. Then we'll have to lean right back in.... Try not to think of it as teleporting. All we're doing is leaning in and looking, then leaning back." For her, it was a little more than that, but she as beginning to think of all space as connected. At least when it came to reflections. "Are you ready?"
